High-performance composite rebar designed to reinforce concrete structures. Basalt fibers are embedded in a tough vinyl ester resin in a patented process to create unique and strong reinforcement bar. Det Norske Veritas (DNV) has carried out an extensive qualification test program of BFRP in concrete. This has resulted in a certificate of fitness and design guidelines for marine construction.

AIT MiniBars™

High-performance fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) composites macrofiber, using basalt or alkali-resistant glass and engineered to provide high tensile, post-cracking strength to concrete while at the same time increasing toughness, impact, and fatigue resistance of concrete. MiniBars™ are a structural synthetic macrofiber that can be used as a secondary and/or as primary reinforcement. MiniBars™ disperse quicly and evenly throughout the concrete matrix. They stay suspended in mix due to the specific gravity being similar to concrete. This promotes uniform performance throughout the concrete cross section without fibers showing on formed or finished surfaces unless cement paste is removed. Available in 24mm and 43mm.
